British Cycling
British Cycling provides information about cycling activities throughout the UK. They are the governing body for most types of cycling competition, road racing, track, BMX, cyclo-cross and cycle speedway. BC also provides 3rd party insurance for affiliated clubs and the option for legal and individual accident insurance for gold level members.
BC also supports the coaching schemes from club coach training up to international coaching.

CTC CTC
The Cyclists' Touring Club is the biggest, longest established and most influential British cycling organisation.
Bikeforall
A very useful site, provided by the National Cycling Strategy with tips for beginners and experienced cyclists.
London Cycling Campaign
Since 1978 the London Cycling Campaign has promoted the rights and needs of all cyclists in Greater London. They represent cyclists' interests to central government, local councils, employers and public services, such as rail operators and British Waterways, ensuring that cycling is properly considered alongside other forms of transport.
Spokes Spokes
The Lothian Cycle Campaign - a non party political voluntary organisation, SPOKES campaigns for better conditions for cyclists, especially in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Merseyside Cycle Campaign - a group to lobby for better cycle routes around the Merseyside region

Transport Policy

Sustrans
Sustrans
Sustrans is a civil engineering charity which designs and builds routes for cyclists, walkers and people with disabilities. Sustrans is promoting a 6,500-mile National Cycle Network for the United Kingdom which will link schools, houses, shops and workplaces with each other and with the countryside.

The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions. Objectives include "the promotion of efficient and integrated transport services across different modes and reducing road traffic growth, in order to better meet the mobility needs of the travelling public and industry".
Transport Research Laboratory - Berkshire
Napier University joined forces with industrial partners to set up this Institute in Edinburgh, concentrating academic and industrial expertise in an effort to find real solutions to those transport problems that are perceived to be among the most intractable confronting society.
